Getting started
Install the dillie CLI, sign in, and list the projects in your workspace for the first time.
Prerequisites
- A dillie account. If you don’t have one, sign up at dillie.work.
- macOS or Linux (arm64 or x64). On Windows, install inside WSL.
1. Install the CLI
Run the install script in a terminal.
curl -fsSL https://dillie.work/download/cli/install.sh | sh
The script downloads the executable for your operating system and CPU, verifies its checksum, and places it at ~/.local/bin/dillie. If the checksum does not match, it stops without installing. If that directory is not on your PATH, the script prints how to add it for your shell — run what it prints.
To change the install location or version, set environment variables with the command.
| Variable | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
DILLIE_INSTALL_DIR |
~/.local/bin |
Directory to place the executable in |
DILLIE_VERSION |
latest |
Release tag to install (for example v0.20.0) |
If you have Node.js 22.12 or later, you can install with npm instead.
npm install -g @gravity8/dillie-cli
Check that the install worked.
dillie --version
2. Sign in
dillie login
The dillie approval screen opens in your browser. Choose the workspace to enter and approve; the CLI saves the session and prints Signed in.
Where no browser can open (an SSH session, CI), add --device. Open the printed URL in a browser on another device and enter the code.
dillie login --device
Check who you are signed in as.
dillie whoami
If your name, email, and workspace are shown, you are signed in.
3. Check your workspace
The CLI works in one workspace at a time. If you belong to several, the one selected now is marked current: true in the list.
dillie workspace list
To switch to another workspace, use its tenantId. The first time you use the dillie CLI in that workspace, the approval screen opens again.
dillie workspace use <tenantId>
4. List projects
dillie project projects list
By default the list shows only the first page (50 items). When there are more, more pages is added below the table (in JSON output, page.hasMore is true). To read them all, add --paginate (CLI 0.21.0 or later).
dillie project projects list --paginate
Update the CLI
When a new version is out, a notice appears when you run a command. If you installed with the install script, the CLI replaces itself.
dillie upgrade
If you installed with npm, reinstall with npm.
npm install -g @gravity8/dillie-cli@latest
